This week I shared with the team on my recent research - Howard Gardner on the Theory of Multiple Intelligence. I was researching about homescooling and informal learning. stumbled upon this learning theory.

Our society emphasis a lot on language and maths / logical intelligence. We often overlook the other intelligence in people. This theory helps educators to look at classroom learning in a wider perspective. We can also use this to find out more about our strength and develop them strategically. It is a Pep Design's tradition to travel every year as a company. Almost everyone in this company loves food, music and traveling. Recently, we all have a new hobby- Photography. Thus this year we have chosen Hanoi, Vietnam for our 2009 company trip. Although it was a short trip of 4 days, we have enjoyed ourselves and made full use of our time there. We have experienced the great taste of Pho and also the beautiful sight of Ha Long Bay. As for where we will be going next year? Well, thats for us to decide and for you to find out....CHEERS!

Our Very First Sponsorship

On 8th August 2009, Pep Design sponsored an advertorial for a Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race car. I know it was kind of irrelevant, then again, I was being approached by an ex-client of ours and his intension was for charity purpose.

Among all the cars that night, Zen's, who was our ex-client, car came in 8th place. Almost all the other cars had their money received from sponsorship were spent on their cars. And it was only Zen's car that has placed all these sponsored funding into charity homes. He and 2 other driving partners decided to pocket out their own money to spend on modification which was worth a few hundred thousand. Zen shared that through this charity drive, he and his team managed to raise up to RM25K for 6 charity homes for children. And I am proud to announce that Pep Design is one of the contributors to this event.

Having our logo being pasted on a race car and racing in Sepang Race Circuit was quite an experience. All the team members' uniform also have our logo being embroidered on their sleeve. It was quite a proud moment for me. Personally, I feel that whatever we have made, it is good to return to the society in a form of charity. After all, that amount of money can actually bring a lot of difference to the less fortunate. I hope that this will be the beginning of our Pep's charity contribution and I am looking forward to having it more in the near future. Once again, on behalf of Zen and his team, I would like to thank Diane who approved this contribution and the rest of the Peppies for their hard work to make it possible.

I didn't mind when the Milo Fker didn't serve me and my friend a free milo that day just becos we were 10 mins early for your grand opening.
I will try to forget that on the place where your shop sits was once a grocer just like yours which failed so badly it closed down within two months since it opened its doors.
I am ok even though your stafff tried to ram me down with one of your brand new shiny trolleys.
I will disregard the fact that you double layered my purchase with non biodegradable plastic bags.

I wanted to stay inside your supermarket for a while. Arrrrrrrrrrr... rows rows and rows ....
I wanted to buy almost everything except the cigarettes....
I wanted to sample everything inside your supermarket including the grotesque goat's milk .. DAMN it tasted like corpse in a bottle...
I wanted you to know I collected 101 points from making egg sandwich meal for my friends at work on a Mundane Overtime Saturday..thanks to the fresh produce taken from your shelves...

I'll say you are gutsy and you have foresight..
I for one would not set up any shop opposite a school cos its feng shui-ly incorrect.

Even though their bodies are just black and white, it is not easy to capture them easily in the forest. In fact, they are very rare to be seen in the wild. In China, they are one of the national treasures.

And for Pep Design to have one of this special rare species is a blessing in disguise. For the last 5 years, we have this Kung-Fu Panda in our office passing on her Kung-Fu techniques to all her disciples’ aka US. Even though there were times when she was away for her breeding season, we were still blessed to practice her skills on our own and applying them in many outstanding design projects. And no matter how long she was away, she has never fail to keep up the pace to be on a par with all of us.

Today, we are celebrating the birth of this panda, which has been with us for the last 5 yrs. Without her existence, we wouldn’t have the guts to come this far and transforming ourselves from one small design firm of 4 person to a semi design and advertising agency of 8. We are very proud to have this national treasure of China with us even though she is not from China. But she has always been part of our growth in Pep Design and our very own Pep’s Treasure.

Dear Peppies,

This Saturday 28th March from 8.30pm to 9.30pm is earth hour. I know this is only one hour of switching off all our electrical appliances and lights etc and perhaps many don't see what difference it makes. But still for almost 360 days we have been 'abusing' our mother earth, lets give her a good rest. So I urge every one of us in Pep Design to play an active role in your family to encourage this movement to take place. Let us care for our mother earth for just 1 hour.

My first day in pep was 15 oct 2003, hmmm ... i think nearly 6 years past ... thanks myself for being one of peppy in this family, it is so blessed, it is so proud! thanks bosses & fellow xiao xiao –peppies. This is the 6 times i have been celebrate my birthday with my second home – peppies! sososo.....all of this are my value in my life, value of my experience, value of my friendship, value of my memory! sure got tear , but it is worth!

It's still fresh in my mind, who know me i have a strong mega hardisc in my mind! I still remember the first day working in pep, my master piece of industry life–being a graphic designer. Is our faith of joining this family, i never regret becos i love it, i love peppies. I wont be here from a fresh GD until now a AD, becos i have all of you DIANE, DORA, HOI, LOO, JOSHUA, PHENIE AND MOJO! Big or small, u guys playing different role in my life, makes me happy, makes me cry, makes me high, makes me shock. All i put deeply in my heart, i appreciate it, this is all my memory marked n marked.

It is not easy for me to work for 6 years, like a baby fresh born until a little 6 years old kid. Still fresh in doing design with this family. I looking back my path, sometimes i really cant remember what i have done. Maybe this is the reason that i can keep myself always fresh in this family. Last 2 days, i am checking the old works i did, oh man.... there are still look fresh and nice to me.....hahaha.....hmmmm.....i think i should proud of myself really done a good job in my life. thanks JANICE, u did well!

As usual, my night often fill with curiosity. Things that were running on my mind during the day will haunt me during the night. So every night I will surf around online to search for my answers. Somehow tonight is just about PEP DESIGN. So I went online searching how many companies called themselves Pep Design...hahha.. what a silly thing to do....

So I came across this person's blog as per shown above. (but to protect the person, I am not naming who) This person is obviously looking for us. However, when I clicked to the blog, it was no longer there so I assumed that he/she must have given up. Somehow, he/she has a point...our company website does not have any contact man. No phone number and not even email address. What is the whole point then? Sigh! Eh...can we do something about it?

Today is a holiday for Malaysian. As usual, I have nothing much to do at home so i decided to write a post here in PEP. Well, would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the hard work done. Thank everyone for the patience and understanding.

It has been like an endless birthday weeks for me....one after another. The meaning of Birthday is to celebrate the day that God has created the person on earth for all of us to encounter. And because this person is special to us, so we celebrate the existence of this person and indirectly also thank God for creating him and her. (Eh...this theory derived from my Dora's 1001 dictionary) hahaha. So please correct me if i am wrong. Anyhow, the Pep traditions still carry out faithfully year after year. Ultimately, the happiness and joy are being shared among all of us. Birthday Girl or Boy received their gifts and all of us enjoyed our happy meal, sang songs, blown the candles and cut the cake. At the end of the day, the meaning was there. Whether the gift was big or small, expensive or cheap, need or unnecessary- it doesn't matter. It was the thought that counts. Birthday is a celebration that has been carry out to shower our love ones the joy and happiness. Its rather contradicting sometimes, as we get older the more reluctant we wanna celebrate our birthdays, however, if we doesn't celebrate we feel something is missing that year. But this is just a personal point of view. Most importantly, whether the market is good or bad, as long as Pep exist, we celebrate and dedicate that special day for every individual Peppy. Cause you are special.

Meet with Yashim Ahmad at Annex Gallery, 2pm

This is my first time meet with Yashim Ahmad who did a lot of nice and touching PETRONAS TVC, Sepet etc. She wears white flowering baju kurung with 'onitsukatiger' sport shoe, she looks young and friendly. Beside her is a film producer, Tina. She own a film company in KL. Another speaker is Benjamin, a film advisor in Monash University.

She shared a lot of thought of her life. Her story came from her own life, she likes to talk with people, share people experience. All of this make her life meaningful. She said:" none of us are creative, she is not creative, she just like to tell story of her life." She mentioned :" more personal you have, more universal you are." Through Yashim's experience, she felt sometimes we have to less concern of demographic and psychographics, but more concern on humanistic. It is because we are all human being no matter how old you are, we all need love , we like things can make us feel touching. I do agree!

Lastly, Yashim came out a mandarin word. She said:" 你明白吗？“（Are you understand?). At that moment, i felt she is talking to me. She faced me, i felt so unbeliever. She is talking to me, so amaze!

First Course- FLASH

Last Saturday, Loo and I went for our first ever Flash Course together. Loo was the only guy in class and me being one of the oldest. So we both looked kinda weird. But it didn't stop us from being TOP STUDENTS in class. Hahahaah. We were both there to impress our teacher that we are not ordinary students and we work hard to make Pep a name and also that even though we are different from others we STILL have very good learning ability. Kekkeekeke. At first, we were very skeptical about PJCAD from the exterior of the school, it looked very run down. The minute we entered the building and class, we have a different thinking altogether. The machines they let students use are very up to date including the software. And the teacher- Willy spoke very good english and his instruction and teaching is very clear. We are very happy how his teaching turn out. Within 4 hours of learning, loo and i had like 4 short flash reel already. We have learnt quite a lot and when the class finished, i was thinking to myself: 'WHAT's NEXT?'. I can't wait to go for my next lesson. And i am very glad that we have taken up the class and would be sending more peppy for PJCAD classes in the near future. So WATCH OUT !!

Lift Rosak!

Someone got trapped at the office lift today.

One of Pep's Neighours.

Not the nicest thing to happen, especially first thing in the morning.

It was caused by power tripped. (hmm)

Some say its Anwar Ibrahim's fault (2 doors away). This is conspiracy theory.

I'd like to think that, cos it makes us feel important.

Anyway, we did what we can, we took a stick and wedged it between the lift doors.

This created a small airway for the poor guy trapped in the lift.

Peppies are good civil servants, we are passionate beings, SELFLESS when it comes to rescuing poor souls trapped in our office lift.

P.S. please use the stairs if you ever come visit.

ITS NEVER A BED OF ROSES

For the last few days, a few of us been working very hard and late for the XXXXXX project. And the people whose is handling XXXXXX project for Pep Design is also giving us a lot of issues. A lot of last minute request and a lot this and that. The demand is there and some of us find it very hard to handle.

Well, welcome to the real world!! Many have switched down totally and some said "THAT's IT!" But this is the real world, baby. If you go else where, there will bound to have problem like that. If you choose to work, this is the shit you get. Just that Pep Design has been like a bed of roses but honestly, roses will die and new roses would have to grow. So bear that in Mind. We all have our own shit to handle just whether how you handle it, thats all.

Don't take this sharing personally but I am just sharing this ugly side of work. So Tough Up yourself for bigger challenges as not everyday is bed of roses.

Fish Ball Noodle Lunch

Finally! At last! We all get to eat the Fish Ball Noodle near Chow Yang...hahaha. That auntie was super excited to see me. The minute she saw me she said:"Oh! Tropicana Huh?? Why didn't call me?" Hahaha...I wish i can response like what how joshua wanted me to say:"eh....Why call you? We know you very well meh?" Hahahaha. Of course i won't say that as Auntie's Fish Ball is Super Nice mah. So i packed 6 small and 2 big with 40 fishballs and some happening stewed pork back to the office for everyone to enjoy.

Its rather nice having lunch together in the office once awhile. We sat together even if we don't get to sit just gather around the table and eat would be good enough. It provides a sense of unity and family warmth, don't you agree? So any suggestion for the next get together Office Lunch session? KFC? hahaha...

I wonder how come no one else contribute writing to this site except Hoi and me? And no one comment and response? So weird. I still didn't get any reply about how to celebrate on the 12th. Wei! Peppy starts writing here lah!

its been a very busy week...everyday is a chop chop curry poke day. Before 1 project can end another one is coming. Today is 1st day of July...PAY DAY of course. It's Sherliz's wedding. Every dressed to killed. Lots of audio visual entertainment arranged for the guests to enjoy. Food was good, the bride and groom were pretty. All peppy had a jolly good time.

It's my birthday, and peppy got me an alexis cake. Even went to Brickfields indian vegetarian for lunch. I appreciate their acknowledgement of indian vegetarian. It is a first and last time to a lot of fellow peppies. I had a great time. And thanks for the "little brown cow wallet"! Using and enjoying it everyday!
